This is great! Thank you! We all hear about "stress" and the damaging effects it has on our bodies, so it is nice to see posts like this to remind of the symptoms and ways to help cope. Just yesterday, my family and I went for a walk at the State Park to take in some fresh air and get some exercise. It was cold, but the sunshine and beautiful surroundings helped my mind and spirit renew!
Who can say they never suffer episodes of stress? Stress can lower your immune function, disrupt your sleep, cause your blood pressure to rise, increase your blood sugar, and have many other detrimental effects. Simply using "nature" can reduce a body's response to stress. A simple half hour stroll through a meadow, or a brisk walk through the forest or beside a pond can work wonders! Try it and see. We have so many pretty and safe places around Garrett County to get outside.
